Helen is survived by one sister-in-law, Irene Meagher of Manitouwadge, ON. She will be deeply missed by countless nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. She was predeceased by eight brothers and one sister. Beloved grandmother to Neal (Sarah), Jenna (Tom), Melanie (Marc), and Mathew (Candice), as well as her great-grandchildren Easton, Everleigh, and Oliver. Devoted mother of Gerard (Susanne) and Brian (Antoinetta). Cherished wife of the late Alexander MacDonald. It was with deep sorrow that the family announced the passing of Helen MacDonald (nee Meagher), on November 13th, 2021, at the age of 96 years. Arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd. A private burial will take place at a later date. As per Ed’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Ed is survived by his devoted daughter, Leslie (Raymond) Rolfe brother, Garfield (Sharon) Gouthro sisters, Della AuCoin and Adele Larade grandchildren, Raylene, Dillon, Marley, Morgan, Taylor, and Lawrence great-grandchildren, Landon, Noah, Phoebe, and Kingston and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Marjorie Jean his beloved son, Bradford Lance mother- and father-in-law, Annie Mae (Laidlaw) and Henry Guyaux and brothers-in-law, Thomas AuCoin, and Alphonse Larade. He and Marje became snowbirds until she fell ill. He enjoyed camping with his family and entertaining. He then became the manager of the Whale Beverage Room in Bedford, NS, until his retirement. He served many years in the Royal Canadian Navy, leaving there to work in the insurance industry. On October 5th, 1957, he married his soul mate and love of his life, Marjorie Jean Guyaux. ![]() Born in New Waterford on February 28th, 1935, he was the son of the late Marshall and the late Rose Anne (LeBlanc) Gouthro. Lawrence Edward Marshall (Stretch) Gouthro, age 87, Cheticamp, passed away at home on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd. Joseph du Moine with Deacon Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Wally was predeceased by grandparents, Joseph Albert and Yvonne Cormier, and Wallace and Mary Malcolm uncles, Bernard, Norman, Alex, Gerard, and Freddie aunts, Anna, and Jeannine. Left to mourn, with broken hearts, are his parents, Arthur and Carolyn Cormier brothers Dale (Jessica), Henry (Victoria), and Derrick (Robbie) nephews, Alex, Ben, Malcolm, Devin godchildren, Piper, Jaxon, and Deacon (who will miss his daily visits, and the way he made them laugh) stepfather, Kenny Richardson and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. When he loved something, he loved with all he had. ![]() Wally loved random art, paintings, and giving his expertise in “weeding,” but his love for his family and friends will be forever cherished. His wild spirited, contagious smile, along with his comical ways, could brighten anyone’s day.
